Our Mission
- To explore and establish the mineral wealth of the UT for establishment of Mineral based industry.
- To ascertain the continuity of the mineral deposits by way of Exploratory Mining.
- To study landslides and other Geo-hazards for ascertaining the causes and suggesting mitigation measures besides making inventories of these hazards for policy framework.
- To conduct feasibility studies for different engineering projects like roads, tunnels, bridges, hydroelectric projects and Dams on referral basis.
- Groundwater exploration and development studies.
- Preparation of Minor Mineral Blocks for grant of Mining lease, Quarry License and STP.
- To study dip down extension of mineral deposits and identification of groundwater potential zones by way of Drilling.
- Construction of tube wells and exploratory drilling for other intending departments on requisition basis.
- Implement Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation (MMD&R) Act, 1957 and Rules made there under for Major Minerals and J&K Mineral Concession Rules 2016 for Minor Minerals.
